CAMPING
|
|
|
There are three 4WD access only camping areas beside the river at the Clarence River Gorge. Each site is approximately 9kms from the Homestead and it takes about an hour to drive to each one. Bookings are essential. Top Gorge River Site : is approximately 500 metres above the Clarence River Gorge Falls and about 1.5kms down river from the junction of the Mann and Clarence Rivers. There is one long drop toilet but no other facilities. This area is known as the best Bass fishing spot and also has the added advantage of being quite isolated from river traffic, other fisher -people and campers.
Back Channel Site:
overlooks the Back Channel, approximately 400 metres down river from the Top
Gorge River Site.
There is one long drop toilet.
Bottom Gorge Site Be sure to
leave yourself plenty of time to access your campsite as we close the tracks
about an hour before dusk for safety reasons. A one group at a time rule
applies so be sure to book in advance. There is no access during wet
weather.
